Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring to the photo session?

Two items will help the photography session run smoothly. The first is treats! The second is a friendly face. To help your pet feel comfortable, one person can sit next to them (just out of the shot) and the other can stand next to the camera, to get their attention.

How can I best prepare for the session?

Choose what photos are the most important to you. For example, if you want to capture your dog playing Frisbee, let me know at the consultation. We’ll head to the park first. The best photographs are often captured at the beginning of a shoot.

Does my pet need to be trained for the session?

Nope! I often work with rescue animals that have limited knowledge of basic commands. Sure, knowing basic commands such as sit, come and lay down are helpful, but they aren’t required. Pug parents, don’t worry if your little one’s pugginess flares up and chooses not sit when asked. He or she will eventually sit, and that’s when I’ll get the shot. If necessary, I can work some magic in Photoshop to remove leashes, hands, etc…

Our dog can’t be left without leash, what do we do?!

No problem! During the session we’ll use a thin retractable leash that we can edit out of the photo later. It’ll look as if your lil’ guy was roaming the wild!

Can I be included in some of the photos with my pet?

Yes, of course! Let us know at the consultation. Compliment your pet’s fur with solid colour clothing and pick a neutral colour (not matching) that hides pet hair. Avoid white, but don’t worry I will guide you at the consultation.

How long do the sessions last?

Sessions last approximately 1 to 2 hours, depending how tired your pet will be.

How far in advance do you schedule sessions?

Photography sessions are usually booked 1-2 months in advance. Just let me know what date you have in mind and I will be happy to check my calendar. If I have the date available, I require a session fee of £95 to hold the space for you.

What will happen after the photoshoot?

I will invite you back to my studio to see the selection of the best pictures taken during the photoshoot. I know showing hundreds of images can be overwhelming, that’s why I show you just the best. I will help you to choose the best pictures for you and I will advise you which Art Work would show best in your house.
