Why your dog doesn’t need to be trained to get beautiful pictures!
Did you ever see a wonderful picture on social media and think “My dog would never pose like that!”?
You are wrong!
As a professional photographer there are a few tricks I use to get the perfect shot and most of the time it’s just fun.
There are a few reasons why your pup won’t collaborate:
Overstimulation and excitement. Some dogs are just very happy, so they cannot focus on or understand what’s going on.
Anxiety. New place, new smells and new people around can create a bit of uncertainty, that’s why for me it’s so important to meet you and your pup prior to the photoshoot.
Or they are just testing the boundaries!
If you are working with me, I will try to keep your pup calm and gain their trust to will allow me to get the perfect shot.
The benefits to working with a professional photographer are that I know how to create the best experience for you and your pet. Location is one of the choices I will help you with. I have some lovely locations with lots of fun things to do for your dog, not just walking! Positive reinforcement is another one. Dogs can get stressed very quickly, so it’s very important to keep the session fun, filled with treats and cuddles.
Safety first. If your dog needs to stay on the lead it will stay on the lead (especially on outdoor photoshoot). We can still take amazing pictures and digitally correct them with Photoshop. This will keep your dog safe and it will help me to work in control. Don’t worry, we’ve got this!
I cannot emphasise enough that if your dog needs a break I will stop and give them the amount of time they need to relax and have a stretch. Their wellbeing is one of the most important things for me. This has to be fun for everyone!
Working with a professional photographer helps to create that incredible experience that will get you those amazing pictures.
I hope this will clear some doubts about your dog’s behaviour during the photoshoot, so why not book a free consultation to discuss your pup photoshoot?
